The Suburbs were never our dream. We had imagined ourselves to be the ultimate urban parents, cycling our little brood from farmers market to library to pre-school co-op, inviting friends for meals in a narrow city apartment. But here we are, driving around in our wannabe minivan, hauling toddlers and strollers and snacks from home to playground and back again before nap time.

We are slowly finding our way to a simple life amid the sprawl and trying not to feel too guilty about how much we’re enjoying the in-unit AC, parking lots and jumbo grocery stores. It’s a work in progress. And humbling. Probably a good place for us to be.

I hope this blog can document our adventures – the mundane, hilarious and exhausting minivan ride of a philosopher, a passionate mama and two goofy sweet adorable crazy kids.
